August starts with an active Monsoon pattern.
Ample moisture is in play for scattered storms this afternoon & tonight. Rain chances sit at 30% across southern Arizona, as activity may not be as widespread as the last several days. While storms may be more miss than hit, locally heavy rainfall is possible.
Highs today peak in the low 90s for Tucson, followed by overnight lows in the mid 70s.
The best chance for storms this week looks to be Tuesday and Wednesday. Flash flooding is the main threat due to the recent stretch of wet weather. Rain chances for Tucson range from 60% tomorrow to 50% on Wednesday.
Models hint at a drying trend to wrap the week. A low grade Monsoon pattern starts Thursday and likely lingers into the upcoming weekend. Daytime highs return to triple digit territory as soon as Friday.
