FORECAST DISCUSSION

Decreasing storm chances & increasing heat to wrap the week.

This morning and afternoon features a 30% chance of storms in the metro. Areas east of Tucson stand a better chance of scattered storms today. The flash flood potential appears to be much less versus the last few days, but a stray storm or two may produce locally heavy rainfall.

Highs today peak in the mid 90s for Tucson, followed by nighttime lows in the mid 70s.

Triple digit heat makes a return to the forecast as soon as tomorrow. Southwesterly winds aloft begin to scour out Monsoon moisture, leading to isolated storm chances this weekend and the first part of next week.
