Thursday’s Tucson Forecast: Losing Monsoon moisture…eventually

Today – 30% chance of storms. 94°, west wind 10 MPH.

Tonight – Partly cloudy. 76°, south wind 5 MPH.

Tomorrow – 20% chance of storms. 97°, west-northwest wind 10 MPH.

Storm chances decreasing as dry air wins the battle of the Monsoon.

This afternoon features a 30% chance of metro storms. Favored areas for storm development today include the mountains and International Border. Daytime highs peak in the mid 90s, followed by nighttime lows in the mid 70s. Partly cloudy skies prevail late tonight for the Perseid meteor shower.

Westerly winds aloft scours out a good amount of moisture in the atmosphere heading into the weekend. This leads to isolated hit & miss storms for the Old Pueblo. Rain chances range from 20% Friday to a mere 10% next week. As we dry out, temperatures heat up. Highs return to triple digit territory on Saturday.
