FORECAST DISCUSSION

Dialing up the thunder threat to wrap up the work week.

Monsoon moisture slowly trickles in from Sonora. This leads to isolated storm development this afternoon for much of southern Arizona. Favored areas for storms during the daytime hours looks to be west of Metro Tucson, including Sells and Ajo. The Old Pueblo peaks in the 100s for the 55th time this year, accompanied by a 20% chance of afternoon/evening storms.

Overnight lows bottom out in the mid 70s metro-wide. A stray shower or storm can’t be ruled out late tonight.

Tomorrow through Monday features a 30% chance of storms in eastern Pima County. With storm chances ticking up, daytime highs drop slightly. Expect mid to upper 90s for afternoon temps heading into the weekend and early next week.
