Expect gusty east-southeast winds around 20-30 MPH. 40 MPH gusts can’t be ruled out for Tucson as Newton tracks just east of the metro area.

Southeastern Arizona is also under a Wind Advisory until 5 PM today. Gusts to 50 MPH may develop this morning along the International Border.

Forecast rainfall amounts for Tucson look to be around 1-2″. Heaviest rains & the greatest flooding concern appears to be in Santa Cruz & southwestern Cochise County, where 2-3″+ is possible. Rainfall tapers off to the isolated variety by this evening. Patchy fog may develop overnight.
