Monsoon moisture interacts with a low pressure trough today. This set-up allows for scattered storm development, starting around lunchtime & decreasing after sunset. Metro Tucson & points east stand a 50% chance of storms this afternoon, some of which could be severe. Primary threats with today’s activity include 40+ MPH winds and blowing dust.
Southwesterly winds aloft starts to scour out moisture tomorrow, leading to a few pop-up storms. Thunder-free conditions prevail mid to late week as high temps peak in the mid 90s. Expect ample sunshine for the upcoming weekend.
