FORECAST DISCUSSION
Monsoon 2016 refuses to quit.
Ample moisture & a mid-level disturbance forms scattered storms today. Areas along and east of an Oracle-Tucson-Arivaca line stands the best chance for storm development. Primetime for metro thunder looks to be 1-6 PM, with storms decreasing to the isolated variety tonight. High temperatures peak in the low 90s.
Expect another chance of scattered storms for the final day of the Monsoon. Metro Tucson stands a 30% chance of storms Friday as highs once again reach the low 90s. Drier air moves into the state over the weekend, shutting down storm development.
Models continue to show a cold front clipping the state early next week. Gusty winds are possible with daytime highs dropping to the 80s. Nighttime lows bottom out in the mid 50s Tuesday and Wednesday morning.
