FORECAST DISCUSSION

The Sonoran Wind Machine steals the weather headlines over the next 36 hours.

Breezes crank up today as a cold front parks east of the state. Expect easterly winds around 15-25 MPH starting late this morning, weakening by lunchtime on Friday. Highs the next few days peak in the low 90s, running well above average for late October.

Models show a slug of moisture moving into Arizona from the south this weekend. This moisture combines with a weak disturbance to touch off isolated showers and storms as soon as Saturday. Rain chances range from 10% Saturday to 20% on Sunday and Monday. Most places stay dry as highs continue to peak in the 90s.

Drier air moves in the middle portion of next week, shutting down rain chances & keeping daytime highs near the 90° mark.
