High pressure moves across the state this afternoon. As a result, gusty winds decrease after lunchtime. Daytime highs peak in the mid 90s for the Old Pueblo, marking the 15th straight day with temps at or above 90°.
With high pressure east of the state this weekend, moisture from Mexico moves in from the south. This moisture aids in developing isolated storms Saturday. Rain chances increase from 10% tomorrow to 30% on Sunday and Monday. Pinal, Pima and Santa Cruz Counties look to be the favored areas for storms.
Afternoon temps reach the low to mid 90s this weekend. Highs Monday top out in the upper 80s, ending the long streak of 90° weather. Drier air arrives the middle of next week, shutting down the thunder threat as soon as Tuesday.
