High pressure parked east of the state supplies daytime highs roughly 15° above average, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Tucson is slated to reach 97° today, which would break the old record of 94° set back in 1937. Friday’s forecast high of 94° would match the record last set in 2007. Partly cloudy skies prevail the next two days.
The 90s stick around this weekend under ample sunshine. Next week features a cooling trend, as a storm system approaches from the Pacific Northwest. Highs range from the mid 80s on Halloween to the upper 70s by Wednesday.
