The blocking pattern responsible for this week’s gusty winds is starting to break down.
Low pressure southeast of the state starts to weaken today. The net effect will be winds decreasing by late this afternoon. Expect east-southeast wind gusts around 15-25 MPH to start the day, dropping to 5-15 MPH after 3-4 PM. Daytime highs peak in the upper 70s.
High pressure begins to emerge from the west heading into the weekend, driving a gradual warming trend. Temperatures range from the upper 70s tomorrow and Saturday to the 80s early next week. Nighttime lows bottom out in the low to mid 50s the next several nights, which is above average for mid November.
