FORECAST DISCUSSION

Cooler temps, valley rain & even mountain snow is possible over the next 7 days.

Highs this afternoon reach the low to mid 70s across the Old Pueblo. A departing cold front brings the coolest night of the Fall so far. Lows overnight bottom out in the upper 30s to low 40s metro-wide. Freezing temperatures are likely by daybreak Friday in the San Pedro, Sulphur Springs & Gila River valleys. These areas are under a Freeze Warning from 2-8 AM Friday.

A brief warm-up is on tap for El Tour weekend. High pressure building over the state may produce gusty winds Saturday. Daytime highs peak in the low 80s under ample sunshine.

Models continue to indicate a strong cold front sweeping across the state early next week. Widespread showers & snow above 8,000 feet develops late Sunday night, tapering off early Tuesday. Metro Tucson could pick up 0.25-0.75″ rainfall, while a dusting to 1″ snow is possible atop Mount Lemmon. Highs reach the upper 60s Monday and Tuesday.
