Wednesday’s Tucson Forecast: Freezing temps on repeat




Today – Sunny. 61°, north wind 5 MPH.

Tonight – Clear and cold. 32°, southeast wind 5-10 MPH.

Tomorrow – Mostly sunny. 65°, northwest wind 5 MPH.


This morning saw the Old Pueblo’s first freeze of the season. Old Man Winter may do it again tonight.

Tucson International Airport dipped to 29° just after 5:30 AM. High temperatures today rebound to the low 60s under ample sunshine. Lows tonight plummet to the upper 20s to low 30s for much of the metro area. For that reason, a Freeze Warning will be in effect again during the overnight hours. Santa Cruz County & the Altar Valley drops at or below 28° tonight, forcing another Hard Freeze Warning to be issued by the National Weather Service.

Temperatures begin to moderate heading into the weekend as the jet stream starts to lift north. Highs peak in the mid to upper 60s as soon as Saturday, while nighttime lows bottom out in the upper 30s to low 40s.
