A storm system drops south of the border over the next 36 hours. Metro Tucson stands a 20% chance of showers late this afternoon. Highs peak in the low 60s, running 4-6° below normal. Overnight lows bottom out in the low 40s with a slight shower chance continuing.
Areas east of Tucson stand the best chance of valley rain/snow down to 4,000 feet during the overnight hours & first half of tomorrow. 1-3″ of snow is possible above 7,000 feet, including Mt. Lemmon and Mt. Graham.
Gusty east winds develop Saturday as the storm system slowly moves away from the state. Lighter winds and warmer temps arrive early next week, with highs approach the mid to upper 60s. Models indicate a cold front clipping the state Tuesday. This looks to kick up the breezes & bring a slight cool-down the middle of next week.
