THE CLIFF NOTES
Today – Mostly sunny. 73°, north wind 5 MPH.
Tonight – Partly cloudy. 44°, southeast wind 5-10 MPH.
Tomorrow – Mostly sunny. 74°, northwest wind 5 MPH.
While the rest of the country freezes, the Sonoran Desert basks in Winter warmth.
Daytime highs run 7-9° above average today. As high pressure approaches from the west, temperatures climb into the 70s. Models indicate a jet stream propped well north of the state through the middle of next week, keeping any weather of significance well away from the Sonoran Desert. Highs early next week may run up to 10° above average for mid-December standards.
Long range models signal a potential pattern change late next week, which may bring our warm Winter weather to an end.
