Monday’s Tucson Forecast: Another blast of Winter weather




Today – 20% chance of rain, breezy. 65°, southwest wind 15-25 MPH.

Tonight – 90% chance of rain. 42°, west-southwest wind 5-15 MPH.

Tomorrow – Mostly sunny. 53°, west-northwest wind 5-10 MPH.


The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Mt. Lemmon, Mt. Graham and the White Mountains. This is in effect from 2 PM today until 5 AM Tuesday.

An approaching cold front sweeps across the state. A stray shower is possible this afternoon, as winds peak in the 15-25 MPH range. Widespread rain develops after dinnertime, with snow levels dropping down to 4,000 feet overnight. Rain & snow tapers off by daybreak Tuesday.

Up to 0.30″ rain is possible over the next 24 hours. 4-8″ of new snow is expected above 7,000 feet for Summerhaven and Hannagan Meadow.

Tuesday features daytime highs in the low 50s, followed up by a widespread freeze overnight. Metro Tucson is under a Freeze Watch late Tuesday night through early Wednesday morning. Lows in the Old Pueblo bottom out in the upper 20s to low 30s. Another freeze could occur Wednesday night.

Temperatures start to moderate later in the week.
