Tuesday’s Tucson Forecast: Record highs await

Today – Mostly sunny. 71°, west-northwest wind 10 MPH.

Tonight – Mostly clear. 47°, southeast wind 5 MPH.

Tomorrow – Mostly sunny. 75°, north wind 5-10 MPH.

A late April feel looming in the forecast.

Mostly sunny skies are on tap this afternoon, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Metro Tucson reaches the low 70s for highs, running 2-4° above average. Temperatures climb to the mid 70s tomorrow.

High pressure builds over the state by late week, bringing the potential for record-setting temperatures. Thursday’s forecast high of 85° would break the old record of 84° set in 2015. Friday’s record high is 86° set in 1951, with the forecast slated to be a degree warmer than that mark.

Odds are increasing for a pattern shift by the weekend. Gusty winds develop Saturday, accompanied by an isolated shower chance. Highs early next week struggle to reach the mid to upper 60s with a 10% chance of rain.
