TODAY’S BEAMISH BLOGCAST
THE CLIFF NOTES

Tonight – Mostly clear. 51°, southeast wind 5-10 MPH.
Tomorrow – Mostly sunny. 85°, north wind 5 MPH.
Record heat on the way. So is a pattern shift.
High pressure builds across the southwest. As a result, afternoon temperatures peak in the mid 70s this afternoon. Record highs are likely to wrap the work week. Thursday’s forecast high of 85° would break the record of 84° set in 2015. Friday’s forecast high looks to be one degree warmer than the record of 86° set in 1951.
Partly cloudy skies Friday should prevent Tucson from reaching its earliest 90° day on record.
Reality returns by the weekend, courtesy of a developing storm system near the British Columbia coast. Gusty winds develop on Saturday, followed by a 30% chance of showers late Saturday into early Sunday. A few lingering showers may continue Monday. Daytime highs drop 15-20° between Friday and early next week.
