THE CLIFF NOTES

Last call for record heat.
High pressure drives temperatures 20° above average today. This afternoon’s forecast high of 88° would break the old record of 86° set in 1951. Ample sunshine gives way to mostly clear skies overnight.
From an early May feel to more typical February weather, as a cold front brings a pattern change this weekend. Gusty winds develop Saturday as highs peak in the low 80s. Sunday features a 30% chance of showers, with rain chances decreasing to 20% Monday. Highs early next week plummet 20-25° from today’s record temperatures.
Rainfall amounts look rather light, likely registering less than 0.30″. A few inches of snow atop Mount Lemmon is possible Sunday and Monday. Areas north and east of Tucson appear to be the favored areas for valley rain/mountain snow.
