FORECAST DISCUSSION

More gusty winds, more cloud cover to wrap the work week.

Expect easterly winds in the 10-20 MPH range through late this afternoon. A storm system off Baja California spreads cloud cover over Southern Arizona today, as highs peak in the low 80s. Mostly cloudy skies begin to clear out during the overnight hours.

Saturday features a break in the breezes and more sunshine. Gusty winds return to the forecast early next week thanks to a storm system passing through Northern Arizona. Southwest winds crank up to the 15-25 MPH range Sunday and Monday. Due to the direction of the wind, blowing dust may develop along I-10 east of Willcox.

Highs drop to the low 70s Monday, followed by a warming trend. Metro Tucson’s back to the 80s as soon as Wednesday.
