FORECAST DISCUSSION

Could the Old Pueblo reach 90° this week?

Highs this afternoon run 2-4° below average. Tucson peaks in the upper 60s under sunny skies. Winds will be much lighter today, peaking in the 5-10 MPH range.

Ridging takes over for much of the week, driving the mercury toward the upper 80s Wednesday through Friday. Wednesday’s forecast high of 88° is just 2 degrees shy of the record set back in 1989. Of note, Tucson’s average first 90° day typically arrives around April 9th.

Temperatures dip to the mid 80s for the upcoming weekend, which is still running well above mid-March normals. Ample sunshine reigns over the next 7 days.
