FORECAST DISCUSSION

Cranking up the heat the rest of the week.

High pressure over the eastern Pacific drives daytime highs toward late April standards. This afternoon features ample sunshine and highs in the upper 70s for Metro Tucson. These temps are 6-8° above average for early March.

The mercury continues to climb for the latter half of the work week. Daytime highs peak in the upper 80s Wednesday through Friday. While these temps are shy of record levels, they are running roughly 15° above normal.

There is a slight chance Tucson reaches 90° for the first time in 2017 on Friday. Tucson’s average first 90° day typically arrives around April 9th.
