FORECAST DISCUSSION

Spring fever continues across the Sonoran Desert.

High pressure continues to keep abnormal warmth over Southern Arizona. Afternoon temperatures today through Saturday peak in the upper 80s, running roughly 15° above average. Plenty of sunshine is expected during the daytime hours.

This weekend features a slight cool-down as a weak trough kicks through the state. Highs peak in the mid 80s with increasing cloud cover on Sunday.

Long range computer models queue up another high pressure ridge next week. Odds are increasing that Tucson reaches its first 90° day of 2017 on Tuesday. For perspective, Tucson typically reaches its first 90° day around April 9th.
