Could today mark Tucson’s first 90° day of 2017?

High pressure continues to keep abnormal warmth over Southern Arizona. Afternoon temperatures today reach the upper 80s to low 90s metro-wide. Today’s forecast high of 90° runs 17° above average for mid March standards in Tucson.

Of note, Tucson’s average first 90° day typically arrives around April 9th.

This weekend features a slight cool-down as a weak trough kicks through the state. Highs peak in the upper 80s with increasing cloud cover on Sunday. Our warm & dry pattern looks locked in for next week. Daytime highs range from the low 90s Monday & Tuesday to the mid 80s Wednesday.
