TODAY’S BEAMISH BLOGCAST

THE CLIFF NOTES

Tonight – Mostly clear. 59°, southeast wind 5-10 MPH.

Tomorrow – Partly cloudy, breezy. 86°, southwest wind 15-30 MPH.

FORECAST DISCUSSION

The March heat wave looks to end after today.

High pressure departing to the east drives highs into the low 90s for Tucson. This would mark the 9th straight 90°+ day, which is a record for the month of March. Mostly sunny skies this afternoon gives way to mostly clear skies overnight.

Bringing the Spring fever to an end is a cold front approaching from the Pacific. Clouds & winds increase tomorrow, followed by a 30% chance of showers & storms early on Thursday. Highs Thursday afternoon struggle to reach the upper 60s, while a few showers may linger past lunchtime.

Models hint at two more storm systems impacting the state heading into the weekend and next week. Both systems appear to be moisture starved, but winds kick up again on Saturday and possibly Monday.
