The 90s streak is over.
An approaching cold front snaps the nine day stretch of highs at or above 90°. Metro Tucson reaches the mid to upper 80s today under mostly sunny skies. Gusty southwest winds develop early in the day, peaking in the 15-25 MPH range. Blowing dust can’t be ruled out along I-10 near San Simon.
This storm system enters the state tomorrow. While it loses much of its moisture, it is poised to bring a 15-20° drop in temperatures. Highs Thursday reach the mid to upper 60s with a 20% chance of showers. The best rain chances tomorrow reside north of Tucson.
Nighttime lows Thursday bottom out in the low to mid 40s in the metro, which is substantially cooler than the past several nights.
Two more storm systems are slated to swing through the state. Winds increase again Saturday & early next week. These fronts also keeps temperatures in check. Daytime highs range from the mid 80s Saturday to the mid 70s next Tuesday.
