FORECAST DISCUSSION

This afternoon likely stands as the coolest day of the next week.

Highs today reach the mid to upper 70s across the Old Pueblo. A departing cold front decreases winds to the 10-15 MPH range this afternoon for much of Southern Arizona. Areas east of Tucson could see lingering gusts up to 20 MPH today.

Overnight lows bottom out in the mid to upper 40s in Eastern Pima County.

High pressure emerges from the California coast to end the work week, driving a strong warming trend. Highs range from the mid 80s Wednesday to the low 90s Thursday and Friday.

Models hint at a new storm system this weekend. Gusty winds return to the forecast as soon as Saturday. Daytime highs struggle to reach the upper 70s the second half of the weekend with partly cloudy skies.
