April tends to be one of the quieter months of weather in the Old Pueblo. It’s certainly living up to the billing this week.
High pressure builds in from Baja California the next few days. Metro Tucson reaches the low 90s this afternoon, running 7-9° above average. Some high cloud cover is expected today, but mostly sunny skies should prevail.
The long stretch of 90° days looks to continue through the work week and upcoming weekend. Models hint at a storm system passing north of the state late in the work week. Some breezes may kick up Thursday and Friday, but the strongest winds may stay north of the Sonoran Desert.
Nighttime lows the next several nights bottom out in the upper 50s to low 60s, which is well above normal for mid April.
