FORECAST DISCUSSION

Southern Arizona’s Spring fever continues.

High pressure remains anchored over the west. Afternoon highs range from the low 90s today to the mid 90s by Friday. Daytime temperatures run roughly 10° above average for mid April standards.

The thermometer climbs close to Ice Break this weekend. Upper 90s are in the forecast both Saturday and Sunday. Tucson’s forecast high of 98° Sunday would be two degrees shy of the record set in 2012. There is an 11% chance Tucson reaches triple digits Sunday afternoon.

Early next week features a subtle cool-down, as afternoon temps top out in the low to mid 90s.
