High pressure continues to be stalled out across the Western US. Daytime highs range from the low 90s this afternoon to the upper 90s Sunday. Sunshine prevails through the weekend.
Sunday’s forecast high of 98° would be a few degrees shy of tying the record set in 2012. There is a 3% chance Tucson reaches triple digits Sunday afternoon, which would mark the 3rd earliest 100° day ever recorded.
Temperatures look to drop off some next week, as high pressure breaks down. A storm system passing north of the state cranks up the breezes Sunday through Wednesday. Models hint at temps below the 90° mark by late next week.
