Monday’s Tucson Forecast: High fire danger to start the week

Today – Mostly sunny, breezy. 94°, west-southwest wind 15-25 MPH.

Tonight – Mostly clear. 63°, southeast wind 5-10 MPH.

Tomorrow – Mostly sunny, windy. 87°, west wind 20-30 MPH.

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning today. This is in effect from 11 AM until 7 PM & includes areas south and east of Metro Tucson.

Low relative humidity combines with gusty winds to elevate the wildfire danger. West-southwest winds could gust up to 25 MPH in Tucson, with higher gusts possible in the warned area. Winds start to subside after sunset.

Winds could be stronger tomorrow, as a storm system passes north of the state. Highs for the work week range from the mid 90s today to the mid 80s Wednesday.

Models hint at another storm system this weekend, which could drop temperatures into the upper 70s Saturday. Isolated showers can’t be ruled out in the White Mountains.
