Tuesday’s Tucson Forecast: Climbing toward Ice Break

Today – Sunny. 92°, west-northwest wind 10 MPH.

Tonight – Clear. 60°, southeast wind 5-10 MPH.

Tomorrow – Sunny. 94°, west-northwest wind 10 MPH.

Triple digit heat remains in the forecast this week.

High pressure off the Pacific coast drives temperatures well above average the next several days. Metro Tucson peaks in the low 90s this afternoon & mid 90s Wednesday. Lots of sunshine and light winds prevail across Southern Arizona.

Peak of the heat arrives Thursday and Friday. There is a 17% chance the Old Pueblo hits 100° on Thursday, followed by a 67% chance of triple digit heat Friday. If Tucson reaches 100° either Thursday or Friday, it would mark the 7th earliest Ice Break on record. Also of note: Tucson has never recorded its first 100° day on May 4th or 5th.

The heat wave will be short-lived, as a storm system drops temps and increases winds starting the weekend. Highs next Monday struggle to reach the mid 80s.
