FORECAST DISCUSSION

Drier and a touch warmer than yesterday.

A storm system departs the southwest today. While a few isolated showers may develop east of Tucson, much of Southern Arizona stays dry this afternoon. Highs peak in the mid 70s in Tucson, running roughly 15° below average. Overnight lows bottom out in the mid 50s.

High pressure builds in from the west tomorrow, returning typical May weather. Daytime highs range from the mid 80s Thursday to the mid 90s Friday and Saturday. Sunshine prevails to wrap the week.

Models hint at a storm system passing north of the state this weekend & early next week. As a result, gusty winds kick up starting Saturday. Mother’s Day looks breezy, but warm. Highs Sunday peak in the low 90s.
