West-southwest winds gust up to 25 MPH in Metro Tucson. This is in response to a new storm system that passes north of the Sonoran Desert. High temperatures peak in the mid 80s to wrap the work week, running 6-9° below average. A few showers may develop the next few nights in the White Mountains.
Lighter winds prevail on Friday as the storm system heads east.
A strong warming trend commences this weekend. High pressure strengthens over the state, allowing temperatures to return to the low 90s Saturday. The Old Pueblo flirts with triple digit heat early next week, with Monday standing the best chance of Tucson’s 3rd 100° day of 2017.
