After failing to reach 100° yesterday, temperatures threaten the century mark the next few afternoon.
Much of Metro Tucson reaches the 100-102° range this afternoon and tomorrow. These temperatures are 6-8° above average, thanks to high pressure sliding across the state. Sunshine looks locked in for the foreseeable future.
So far in 2017, Tucson has registered 2 triple digit days.
Triple digit heat doesn’t stick around long. A storm system looks poised to pass through Northern Arizona to wrap the work week. Gusty west winds up to 25 MPH develop tomorrow and Friday. Fire Weather Watches are in effect for areas south & east of Tucson Thursday and Friday. Outdoor burning is not recommended in these spots.
Highs range from the upper 90s Thursday to the low 90s starting the holiday weekend. The mercury climbs into the upper 90s by Memorial Day.
