Wednesday’s Tucson Forecast: Triple digit heat nears history

Today – Mostly sunny, hot and breezy. 103°, west-southwest wind 15-25 MPH.

Tonight – Mostly clear. 70°, southeast wind 5-10 MPH.

Tomorrow – Mostly sunny and breezy. 99°, west-southwest wind 15-25 MPH.

The 4th 100° day of 2017 could be a record-setter.

Afternoon highs run 8-10° above average across Southern Arizona today. Tucson’s forecast high today of 103° is just one degree shy of tying the record set in 2001. Mostly sunny skies dominate during the afternoon hours.

Gusty winds return to the forecast today, prevailing out of the west around 15-25 MPH. Expect breezes to remain elevated through Friday, courtesy of a storm system passing north of the Sonoran Desert. Red Flag Warnings are in effect Thursday and Friday for areas south & east of Metro Tucson.

Temperatures cool down to wrap up the week, eventually dropping to the low 90s by Saturday. Sunday and Memorial Day features high temps a degree or two shy of triple digit territory.
