The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning today, including Santa Cruz, Cochise, Graham and Greenlee Counties. This is in effect today from 10 AM until 8 PM.
Outdoor burning is not recommended in these areas.
A cold front sweeps through Northern Arizona over the next 24 hours. West-southwest winds increase to the 20-30 MPH range, starting late this morning and decreasing this evening. Highs peak in the low 90s under sunny skies.
Patchy blowing dust is possible along I-10 today, mainly near the Willcox Playa and Picacho Peak.
Breezes decrease for Memorial Day weekend, but temperatures start to climb. Highs range from the low 90s Saturday to triple digits Monday with plenty of sunshine. Models indicate the potential for a few isolated storms as soon as Memorial Day. This activity will be confined to the higher terrain as well as areas east of a Globe-Safford-Douglas line.
