Monday’s Tucson Forecast: Holiday sizzle settles in

Today – Mostly sunny and hot. 102°, west wind 10-15 MPH.

Tonight – Clear. 69°, southeast wind 5-10 MPH.

Tomorrow – Mostly sunny and hot. 100°, southwest wind 10-15 MPH.

Triple digit heat for Memorial Day.

Metro Tucson reaches the 100s this afternoon. This would be the 5th triple digit day of the year in Tucson. Highs this afternoon run 5-7° above average for late May standards. Mostly sunny skies prevail for much of Southern Arizona.

The only exception to that will be along and east of a Show Low-Safford-Portal line. There is a slight thunder threat this afternoon through Wednesday in these areas. Because the low levels of the atmosphere are dry, little rainfall is expected & blowing dust may develop near storms.

Afternoon temps the middle of the abbreviated work week drop to the mid to upper 90s. Models hint at another triple digit threat for the upcoming weekend.
