Highs this afternoon reach the upper 90s under partly cloudy skies. A storm system in the Gulf of California may trigger a few thunderstorms today east of Metro Tucson. Favored areas for scattered storms appears to be along and east of a Show Low-Safford-Bisbee line through this evening.
The slight thunder threat continues for the same areas tomorrow, while mostly sunny skies prevail for the rest of Southern Arizona.
High pressure expands across the Sonoran Desert for the upcoming weekend. This feature returns triple digit heat to the forecast. Afternoon highs peak in the 100-102° starting Saturday.
