High pressure parks over the Sonoran Desert the next several days. Metro Tucson peaks in the 104-107° range this afternoon through Thursday, marking some of the hottest temps recorded this year. Ample sunshine prevails this week.
Excessive Heat Warnings are in effect Tuesday and Wednesday for Metro Tucson & points west. Triple digit heat is likely reached as early as the late morning hours. Outdoor activities, including hiking and biking, should be completed each day by 10 AM.
Gusty winds crank up Friday as a storm system passes north of the state. This feature may snap the streak of triple digit heat by Sunday.
