Friday’s Tucson Forecast: Dangerous heat on its final days

Excessive Heat Warnings continue through Sunday.

High pressure cranks temperature up to the 109-112° range this afternoon into Sunday. Saturday’s forecast high of 112° is just one degree shy of tying the record set in 1994. Nighttime lows only bottom out in the low 80s, which is well above late June normals.

Outdoor activities should be completed no later than 9 AM. Failure to do so could result in dire health consequences.

Monsoon moisture moves into Arizona this weekend. Saturday features isolated storms near the New Mexico state line, followed by isolated storm chances south & east of Tucson Sunday. Metro Tucson stands a slight chance of isolated storms Monday through Wednesday.

While storms will be more miss than hit next week, temperatures begin to drop. Highs peak around 104-107°.
