Tuesday’s Tucson Forecast: Thunder threat on the outs

The heat is on, but storms are off.

High pressure over Rocky Point shoves Monsoon moisture out of the state. Save for a stray shower in the Chiricahuas, sunny skies prevail this afternoon. For the 27th time this year, Tucson reaches triple digit territory with a forecast high of 108°.

Afternoon high temperatures tomorrow through early next week reach the 105-107° range. Sunshine prevails from the desert floors to mountaintops.

Like clockwork, signs of Monsoon life may start appearing around the 4th of July. Long range models indicate high pressure shifting just east of the Four Corners. If the pattern comes to fruition, this would open up the pipeline to moisture & potentially lead to storms.
