Dangerous temperatures make a return to the Old Pueblo.
High pressure remains parked near the Four Corners. While this is typically a favorable pattern for Monsoon storms, dry air is entering the state from the east. Only a few stray storms are possible today and tomorrow along the International Border & White Mountains.
As dry air takes over, temperatures start to spike. Forecast highs range from 106° this afternoon to 109° on Friday. Metro Tucson and points west are under an Excessive Heat Warning between noon Thursday and 7 PM Friday.
Limit your time outdoors the next several days. Complete any outdoor activities no later than 10 AM. Failure to do so may have dire health consequences.
Monsoon moisture increases across the state heading into the weekend and early next week. The Old Pueblo stands a slight storm chance starting Friday, continuing through next Tuesday. High temperatures early next week drop to the 100-103° range.
