Monday’s Tucson Forecast: Finally feeling Monsoon

It may be a week late, but our Summer storm season is finally underway.

The start of the work week features a 30% chance of storms. Favored areas for scattered storms today look to be south & east of Tucson. Primetime for metro thunder should be later than yesterday, around 4-9 PM.

Primary storm threats this afternoon & tonight look to be gusty winds and blowing dust. A few places could see heavy rainfall over 1″.

There is a daily chance of storms through the work week. Tuesday features a 20% chance of thunder, increasing again to 30% on Wednesday. Daily storm chances will be dictated by previous day’s activity & how much cloud cover is present during the morning hours. Models indicate a deeper pull of moisture by the upcoming weekend, which would fuel scattered storms.

Daytime highs through the weekend peak in the upper 90s to 100s. Nighttime lows bottom out in the upper 70s to low 80s across Metro Tucson.
