Another day, another shot at scattered storms.
Plenty of Monsoon moisture continues sitting over Southern Arizona, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. This keeps in a 40% chance of storms today, mainly between 2-7 PM. Mountains & areas south and east of Tucson will have the best chance of scattered storms. Like the last few days, locally heavy rainfall is the primary threat with storms.
Daytime highs peak in the mid 90s. A stray storm can’t be ruled out overnight, but most places should see partly cloudy skies.
The weekend outlook features a 30% chance of afternoon & evening storms. Long range models indicate a downturn in storm development next week. Rain chances drop to 20% starting Tuesday as some Monsoon moisture leaves the state.
