The Old Pueblo stands a 30% chance of storms today. Primetime for storms looks to be around 3-7 PM, with Eastern Pinal, Eastern Pima & Santa Cruz Counties the favored areas for development. Locally heavy rainfall is the primary threat with today’s activity.
Highs reach the upper 90s in Metro Tucson, followed by lows in the upper 70s.
Dry air begins to enter the state from the west this weekend, serving to shut down storm chances. There is a slight chance of isolated storms tomorrow, but dry conditions prevail by Sunday. Tucson should stay thunder free to start next week as highs peak in the 100s.
Long range computer models indicate the Monsoon break may come to an end late next week. Isolated storm chances return as early as next Thursday.
