Wednesday’s Tucson Forecast: The Monsoon strikes back

Move over, triple digit swelter. Monsoon 2017 looks poised to make noise in the coming days.

Metro Tucson stands a 20% chance of storms late this afternoon & evening. For the 48th time this year, the Old Pueblo reaches triple digit territory with a forecast high of 104°.

Areas along the International Border have the best chance of scattered storms today, due to its close proximity to Monsoon moisture.

Moisture slowly trickles northward over the next several days, leading to scattered metro storms Friday into the weekend. Models indicate Saturday to be the most active Monsoon day, as Tucson stands a 60% chance of storms. With moisture increasing, temperatures drop to the 90s by Saturday.

Storm chances decrease to the isolated, hit & miss nature for the new work week. Expect a 20% chance of storms in Tucson Monday and Tuesday.
