Monday’s Tucson Forecast: Monsoon makes its last stand

Scattered storms return to Southern Arizona.

Remnant moisture from Tropical Storm Lidia leads to an increased thunder threat. Metro Tucson stands a 30% chance of storms between 4-9 PM. Graham and Greenlee Counties look to be the favored areas for scattered storm development today.

For the 61st time this year, Tucson reaches triple digit territory for daytime highs.

Drier air starts to work in tomorrow, decreasing storm chances to the isolated variety. Triple digit heat sticks around through Thursday, as high temperatures run 4-6° above average.

Long range models indicate another quick boost in moisture values heading into the upcoming weekend. Friday features a 20% chance of storms, increasing to 30% on Saturday. Afternoon highs reach the mid to upper 90s.
