Not a record, but still hot for one more day.
Highs today reach the 100s for the 68th time this year in Tucson. While a stray shower or storm can’t be ruled out, metro high temperatures peak in the 101-103° range. Overnight lows bottom out in the mid 70s.
Gusty winds develop tomorrow and Friday, courtesy of a trough pushing through Northwestern Arizona. Expect 20-25 MPH gusts out of the southwest during the afternoon hours. Along with the breezes comes highs in the mid to upper 90s, which is more suited for September.
The next chance of showers and storms may arrive Sunday. Rain chances sit at 10% for the Old Pueblo, while scattered storms develop east of the metro area. Highs early next week remain below triple digit territory.
