Thursday’s Tucson Forecast: So long sprinkles, for now

The day starts with cloud cover and sprinkles. It will end with sunshine.

A weak storm system departs Southern Arizona this afternoon. Isolated shower chances cease in Tucson by 8-9 AM, followed by mostly sunny skies breaking out around lunchtime. Daytime highs reach the mid 70s, running about 10° above normal.

Areas east of Tucson should expect isolated showers to exit by the early afternoon hours.

Winter warmth is on tap Friday. High pressure supplies daytime temperatures in the upper 70s. Mostly sunny skies tomorrow give way to some cloud cover for the weekend and early next week.

Long range computer models are at odds over what may happen next week. While the European model indicates a strong storm system entering the state Wednesday, the GFS model keeps Southern Arizona dry. For now, expect a slight shower chance next Wednesday with highs in the low 70s.
